1200 residents benefit from Ibom Developers healthcare support

Over 1200 residents of two rural communities of Akwa Ibom State, benefitted from a two-day medical outreach organised by a Non-Government Organisation – Ibom Developers, for the underserved segment of the society.

At the event which held between Nov 24 and 25, at the Amazaba and Isiotoyo Community in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area and Ikot Akpan and Udo Community in Ikot Abasi Local Government Area the residents, among them aged men, children, women were given free treatment from malaria, eye test, hypertension, diabetes and other health challenges.

The residents lauded Ibom Developers for promoting access to quality healthcare in Akwa Ibom State, through the various medical outreach programmes for the rural communities.

They said these medical interventions have gone a long way in reducing, to the barest, incidents of communicable diseases and others which have continued to plague the people.

The Village Head of Amazoba and Isitoyo Community Chief Gogonte Luke Nglass said by providing accessible, high-quality healthcare to these communities, Ibom Developers have enhanced their quality of life and encouraged them to thrive.

He said prioritising health is essential for attaining a well-balanced life.

The Village Head of Ikot Akpan Udo Community, Chief Oscar Abel Paul; Spokesperson of Ikot Akpan Udo Community, Elder John Obotowo; Chief Liaison Officer of Ikot Akpan Udo Community, Comrade Godwin Benson; Chief Liaison Officer of Amazaba and Isiotoyo Community, Mr. EtongAwaji Christopher John; and the National Base Manager, SPFL Okopedi, Akwa Ibom State Mr. Aja Francis,  who were at the event commended Ibom Developers for the medical outreach.

Chief Oscar Abel Paul, Village Head of Ikot Akpan Udo Community, said: “The foundation of a good life is health. A healthy life brings joy and enhances the productivity of an individual and consequently promotes the overall well-being of the communities.”

During the event, Mr. EtongAwaji Christopher John, Chief Liaison Officer of Amazaba and Isiotoyo Community said, ‘We are immensely thankful to Ibom Developers for this impactful outreach. It has empowered us to offer mutual support to one another and to improve our collective health.

“Medical outreach programmes greatly help transform societies by reaching out to individuals and providing them with personalised healthcare solutions. Ibom Developers acknowledges the inherent value of every individual and strive to improve healthcare delivery of their communities,” he said.
