An unusual gale swept through the Lagos State All Progressives Congress camp on Wednesday.

The Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Wale Oluwo resigned from Governor Akinwunmi Ambode cabinet and the APC.

The resignation takes immediate effect.

Oluwo is being speculated to have joined the Peoples Democratic Party Candidate, PDP, Jimi Agbaje and may be working on his campaign.

In a letter personally signed by him, Mr. Oluwo cited what he called the “undemocratic manner of the October primaries” in the state. He carpetted the party for a charade of an election that was neither free and fair. He said the election ran contrary to the tenets of the party as a progressive.

Oluwo said the conduct fell short of democratic norms which the APC is noted for.

In personal message to friends, Oluwo said he will now be joining forces with Jimi Agbaje to free Lagos from the clutches of the APC.

I, Olawale Oluwo, will be joining the PDP to work with my friend and brother – Mr. Jimi Agbaje in the struggle to #FreeLagos

#FreeLagosNow #iStandwithJimi. Oluwo said in several tweets sent out this afternoon.

Read the full text of his letter to the party which was made available to reporters below.
