…preach kindness at Ramadan
A Peoples Democratic Party House of Representatives hopeful in Ajeromi Ifelodun federal constituency, Mr. Bartholomew Chima have counseled electorates in the area never to despair but get prepared to take decisive actions ahead of the 2023 electoral process that will change their fortunes positively.
Chima a grassroots mobilizer in the constituency, fondly called OmoBarca by his loyalists and followers, made the call at the seventh edition of an Annual Ramadan Lecture and Iftar programme theme: Kindness, An Act of Ibadat, organized by Mallam Kasimu Ebozogie in conjunction with Akorede Jumaat Islamiyyat Central Masjid.
The Reps aspirant charged all eligible voters to take serious the need to get their Permanent Voters Cards, adding that it remains the only voice with which they can decide their future in the coming elections.
Chima said: “As a peace ambassador, I identify with this noble move to sensitize faithful about the need for peace, love and charity which only oozes out of a kind heart.
“The needless killings and bloodletting happening in our country stems from a heart seared to kind acts.
“On the fast approaching electoral process I urge all of us to go out and get our PVC, that remains our voice with which we will change the trend here for good.
“We have exemplified our capacity even while we are not holding any political position, our reach cuts across the constituency and dividend of democracy will go round when we are voted in,so our people need get their PVCs. Chima said.
Mr. Ajadi Toheeb(aka Simple) a PDP aspirant in Ajeromi Ifelodun constituency II who corroborated OmoBarca, hinted that more positive development will sprout in Ajegunle when the people vote right.
“It is a wave, a sign of good things coming to Ajegunle, Omo Barca coming out for House of Reps consoling people in the local government, ensuring the dividend of democracy spreads across the community.
“However before you could participate in the political process you must speak with a voice, which is your PVC, we have been mobilising people to get their PVC and come out enmasse to vote for the real people and real party.
“There is a local parlance in Ajeromi Ifelodun we say ‘shine your eyes’,follow people who know road, do the right thing at the right time and dividend of democracy will spread all across.”
Mallam Kazeem Ebozogie the host of the lecture berated the loss of kindness in our society, declaring that that is the root cause of social ills plaguing the society nowadays.
“For me I think we have become more religious than being godly,we have lost kindness, we no longer care about others.
“We have become too self centred that even if our next neighbour is dying, or we have what we are doing that could harm the next person we no longer care.
“ That led to all the blood letting, so for me I pray that God restores kindness, mercy in our hearts so that we will begin to think of the good of the other person.
“The major message whether from the Christian or Islamic faith stressed the message of loving others as oneself and I don’t know if there is any human being that wish to be killed by another.
“So if you don’t want that for yourself why would you take the live of another person, the devil has removed kindness and mercy from the hearts of people, may Allah restore it.”
Mallam Kasimu also counseled electorates not to be parochial but active in the political scene, being more responsible for their political fate.
“Speaking via the social media is not enough, lamentation is not the option, the required step is get prepared to vote and what it takes is getting your Permanent Voters Card PVC.
“Thank God the window is not yet shut, we are shouting this now, I urge whoever is yet to get it to make effort and obtain it, so as to be well prepared to vote not just party but candidates.
“Again there are only two parties in Nigeria that can effectively win election in Nigeria especially when it comes to Presidential elections, it is the PDP or the APC and Nigerians have tested both parties.
“If you are matured enough you need not be told which party has taken care of the welfare of Nigerians, so the option is ours.
“It is either we want to continue with this harsh conditions or if like the APC will say -we want to revert back to the old order and I believe that we are better off in the old order and now if we are reverting back to the old party that once ruled us,they have learnt more lessons to get us ahead.”
