The Oniba Ekun of Iba Kingdom His Royal Majesty Oba Dr Adeshina Sulaimon, Raji Okikiola Enukalu Ajagungbade Ilufemiloye, has officially declared himself as the campaign manager for the Lagos West senatorial aspiration of the incumbent Speaker of Lagos House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa come 2023 in the Badagry axis.
The Oniba made this assertion in his palace on Tuesday while hosting the Speaker, who paid a maiden courtesy call to him after he was enthroned and to also commission a Maternity Health Centre for the well being of Iba people.
In his words; “I became a king after a call from the Speaker, that faithful Monday, I was busy ticketing at my park, when I least expected, I was summoned by him to come to Alausa. On May 5th my birthday, he gave me palliatives, even money and I still receive support from him till date. Before one year after the king’s demise. I got enthroned with staff of office and State government recognition all thanks to the Speaker. I urge our children to study well because he has assured me of job opportunities for those that merit it.
“I am his campaign manager in Badagry division for his senatorial aspiration, let every one of you know today. I became something through him.”
“On security matters I urge government to involve the traditional rulers more, give them roles, because security is local, we know where the people with criminal tendencies in society hide through our well linked apparatus and can easily fish them out.” Oniba said.
The lawmakers representing the Ojo constituencies I and II, Hon. Victor Akande and Hon. Tijani Nurudeen, who were on ground at the palace, were quick to note the humanness of the Speaker and his kind gestures towards them as the representatives of Ojo constituents.
The Speaker while commissioning the Maternity Centre, noted that the king has done a lot to better the welfare of his people.
“I am here to felicitate with the king and we are happy to be here, he became a king because he has been predestined by divine arrangement. I pray long live the king on the throne of his ancestors.
“You have a good King with a great destiny, healthcare for the people is so important to him as it will help their welfare.
“Things will fall in place for you this time. No one can do it if not helped by God. This will ensure health, safe delivery will be recorded here and many good things will follow . I urge you to cooperate with the king to bring about development.
Let’s cooperate with the Lagos State government to ensure policies of the government go smoothly.
“I am here for the good of the government. Let’s take good care of all the amenities that government made available like this one we are commissioning. Let’s be cautious of security, it is important. We will team up with our king for better days ahead.” said Obasa.
He added that the cultural heritage of the people need be preserved as well as their language of which the king has custody.
“Let’s protect our language to safe our age long culture. When we promote our culture others will emulate us.
As Chinese eating culture anywhere across the world remain consistent, may our culture not go into extinction.
“Out of his own earnings a maternity was delivered and also a central mosque is under construction, so his a king that love his people I commend him and also commend the state government for approving him as the Oba of Iba Kingdom.
“It shows that the long reign of the Oba will bring peace and tranquility to Iba people. I wish long live on the throne while he served his people.”
