- Pledges good governance, quality leadership to Lagos
Convener of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Dr. Olajide Adediran (Jandor) has served the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) and the ruling Governor Babajode Sanwo-Olu terminal notice.
He said both the party and the governor should be prepared to leave the office by March 2023 as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is ready to sweep them out of office.
Jandor who urged Lagosians to vote massively for the PDP in the state, vowing that the party would give them good and quality governance.
He said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has not done anything with the huge resources of Lagos State at her disposal since 1999.
Adediran said this during his declaration ceremony to contest the Lagos governorship seat on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party in Ikeja.
The occasion was witnessed by who is who in the party among whom are; Chief Taiwo Kuye, a former member of South-West PDP caretaker committee, Alhaja Taiwan Olusi, a leading member of Lagos4Lagos Movement, Chief Okanlanwon, Dr. Jonathan Nnaji, leader of Ndigbo in Lagos4Lagos Movement, chairmen of Local Government and a host of other members of the PDP and Lagos4Lagos Movement.
Adediran promised to change the narrative of leadership even as he appealed to other aspirants not to feel threatened by his presence in the party, since they are all expected to work together and wrestle power from the APC in 2 023.
He promised to make his impact felt in all sectors, whether transport, health, education and so on.
Said he “Lagos is a wealthy state and is ironically to see children hawk on the streets of Lagos during school hours which is the reason we said that we are not going to pay lip service, we are going to make education free and compulsory. We are going to provide everything that will make children be in school. We are going to provide school uniforms and make sure that the uniforms are made by local tailors within the locality where the schools are.
“We will identify the schools in each local government and work with the tailors association in that location, thereby creating jobs for the teeming unemployed Lagosians,” he said.
He promised to automate all the health facilities in Lagos and noted that no patient will be transferred from one public hospital to another without ensuring the availability of bed space.
The aspirant promised to address the issue of traffic and stealing on traffic, pointing out that it would be checked by holding the park managers accountable for any theft around their vicinity.
On his financial capacity to challenge a party like APC in Lagos State, he said that it is achievable because they have the vision, have planned towards it in the past seven years when Lagos4Lagos Movement was conceived, stressing that their story will be likened to the story of Dubai 50 years before and 50 years after.
According to him, huge amounts of resources line the pockets of Lagos but the ruling party has been struggling to fix the rail lines from Okokomaiko to Marina for over 16 years, meanwhile, the federal government under six years has done Warri\Itape, Lagos\Ibadan, Abuja\Kaduna. “We have been on Badagry expressway for so many years and we have been unable to do it,” he said.
He said that even though the ruling party has been there for over two decades, its terminal point is 2023.
“We have created the implosion in APC and we are now in PDP, and the deficit in APC is what we have brought in PDP, so the PDP should look at everybody that is aspiring and give the ticket to the aspirant that can truly win the election for them in 2023,” he said.
Dr. Nnaji said that with Jandor, an era of impunity will come to an end, stressing that Lagosians are expectant of the change that will be provided by Adediran, promising that Ndigbo will ensure that the aspirant delivers Lagos to Lagosians.
