Alhaji Sa’adu Yusuf Dandare Gulman the Chairman Arewa Community in APC Lagos State has stated that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s antecedents in Lagos, remains a clear pointer to the envisaged positive development in Nigeria once he emerges winner of the 2023 presidential elections.
Sa’adu made the assertion at the official unveiling of the APC Presidential standard flagbearer- Tinubu and his vice Senator Kassim Shettima on Thursday in Lagos.
The Arewa Community Chairman in Lagos appraised Tinubu’s unmatched impact in the state, stressing that if his kind were present in the six geo political zones of the country, Nigeria would have attained it’s full glory by now.
Saadu said that: “We want to tell every son and daughter of Arewa to go back and tell his state and local government and wards in the north about who Asiwaju is.
“In the Southwest they have Asiwaju, assuming the whole six geo political zones have somebody like Asiwaju by now we would have greatly developed beyond where we are for good, that is why we are here.
“I am 100 percent confident that our people will go back to the north and tell them this is the man Nigeria needs now, this is the person our youths and the elderly needs now we know what he has done in Lagos, how he transformed the state to the extent that it is the best city in Africa now.
“We know by God’s grace if he enters as our next president things will change.
He added that the gathering is also geared towards sensitizing their members on the need to process their Permanent Voters Cards PVC, as it remains the tool needed to actualize their dreams.
“We want to sensitize our people for PVC collection, some people will register and not go and vote, we’ve asked them to go and get their PVCS, if you have it already revalidate it, if you don’t have, you go and get a new one.
“If you have PVC from any part of northern Nigeria, you will have to transfer it to Lagos if you are going to vote here because most of our people are here in February, which is always a dry season and coincidentally the elections is also slated for February.” Saadu reiterates.
Barrister Fatima Bako, APC Lagos State Woman Leader Arewa Community who corroborated Alhaji Sa’adu’s stance noted that the women are ready to galvanize more votes for Tinubu in 2023 election.
Fatima stressed further that, “the Muslim-muslim thing is not really an issue here, what we have is the west and north combination now.
“Asiwaju from the west,Shettima from the north, it is a perfect combination, I can assure you the women’s vote will be more than that of the men this time around because we are all on ground and all this while, you know women are the ones convincing the husband and her children to come out and vote.
“If a woman has nine children all of them are following their mother and the Arewas you know we have that number and we are going to vote for Asiwaju and Sanwo-Olu by the grace of God.”
The Executive Secretary of Arewa Physically challenged community Comrade Mohammed Zanna, who stated that the group has some misgivings over how they’ve been ignored in time past and consequently decided not to vote, noted that Alhaji Sa’adu was the only one who encouraged them to rescind their plan.
“Initially we have no intention of voting in 2023 because we have a lot of grievances against the system, but due to the leadership we have in Alhaji Sa’adu who convinced us to come back.
He stressed that we cannot win from outside, we have to play the game from inside and we totally believed that with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Kassim Shettima we have a winning team.
“We cannot chose the losing team because that is where the winning is and that is why we are all here, we have over a million of people living with disabilities in Arewa in Lagos and they all have their PVCs.
“In the last three to four days we have been able to assist over 3000 people to get their PVCS.
“This we will continue to do till end of the voters registration exercise, so we are united behind BolaTinubu and all other APC candidates.” Mohammed said.
In the highlight of the event, the Arewa community however betrothed a new bride to Tinubu from the northern part of the country to affirm their unflinching support for his presidency.
The new bride Hajia Aisha Adams whom they named Mrs. Ahmed Tinubu was presented by Comrade Kudu Abubarka.
