2027 Poll: Group says Seyi Tinubu yet to declare ambition

A group-Seyi Tinubu Movement (STM) has described the recent attempt to soil the hard-earned reputation of Mr. Seyi Tinubu, as clear falsehood and violation of his constitutionally enshrined franchise.

In a statement issued by the STM spokesperson Mr. Akanbi A. Saheed Afonja former Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Youth Development, the group flays the news making the rounds in the media that Seyi Tinubu is vying for governorship position in Lagos state come 2027 general election.

The group declares that the said news is nothing but a pure political gimmick.

According to Afonja in the statement titled, ‘STOP PLAYING DIRTY POLITICS WITH SEYI TINUBU’S HARD-EARNED REPUTATION – STM LAGOS STATE CHAPTER.’ The narrative was the handiwork of fifth columnist, whose moves should be discountenanced by the public.

The group asked that the public to pay no attention to the unfounded news which they claim is intended to heat up the polity, while citing the attributes and fundamental rights of their principal, whom they said is yet to declare if he nursing any ambition.

STM notes that, “Mr. Seyi Tinubu has not declared ambition to run for any office in the 2027 General Elections or beyond though eminently qualified like every Nigerian youth to compete for public office.

“He is a man of his own dreams and destiny and does not require his DNA as a criterion to edge him out in the pursuit of any of his dreams and aspirations as being speculated in some quarters, those echoing the EMILOKAN mantra as their response to the speculations are fifth columnist.”

The group however, acknowledged that while people have right to their opinion and right of information, the violation of Mr. Seyi Tinubu’s right through false accusations and fake news need be addressed.

“We enjoin the public to stop paying attention to news from unauthorized persons who do not speak for Mr Seyi Tinubu but rather seek to heat up the polity.”
