The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council has conducted an  “On-The- Spot-Assessment” of the three Broadcasting Stations as the warning strike enters Day three.

Contrary to reports by the Lagos State Commissioner For Establishments and Training, Mr Afolabi Ayantayo, that the NLC, RATTAWU and NUJ destroyed studio doors and property of the State-owned Broadcasting Services, it was found that the property were intact.

According to Ajayi, the position of the Commissioner is incorrect as we have moved round the three Media houses (LTV, Radio Lagos/Eko Fm and Lagos Traffic Radio) today.

“As responsible Unions, the NLC, NUJ and RATTAWU have equally documented all the evidence and we challenge those with contrary submission to bring forward their evidence” the NUJ Chairman said.

The Facility tour was simultaneously conducted by other Union leaders, members and men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) who have been on ground in the last 72 hours.

“Deploying propaganda will not achieve any positive result.

“The Lagos State Government should look into the plight of the striking workers with a view to addressing their demands.

“Our people are not asking for too much to be migrated into Oracle database. They deserve better working conditions like other workers in Lagos State” Ajayi said.
