4 rescued in 2-storey building collapse at Ikoyi

LASEMA activates Lagos Emergency Response plan

Four of the five construction workers believed to have been trapped under the rubbles of the collapsed two-storey building at the Glover Court, Ikoyi has been rescued by men of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).

The building partially collapsed at about 4.10pm.

In a quick reaction to the incident, LASEMA the agency saddled with emergency response in Lagos has activated the state’s emergency response plans in an ongoing operation is still exerting all necessarily efforts to excavate the site in order to save the remaining trapped victim from the building. In the ongoing operation at the Glover Court construction site which houses a total of four different 2 storey buildings, all workers in the collapsed building have been accounted for except 24 year-old Yomi. Lagosians within the vicinity have been enjoined to stay calm and allow emergency responders to do their job.

Emergency responders present at the site of the incident are LASEMA, LRU, LASTMA, and men of the Task Force.
