SUNRISE NEWS, Lagos, July 27, 2020 The Adesanya family celebrated their aged parent’s 45th wedding anniversary over the weekend, affirming the biblical stance that the grey hair is the glory of the ancient.
Speaking with Sunrisenews, Senior Apostle David Adesanya hinted that he had no inkling of the honour done on him by his offspring but just saw them visiting.
“I am still surprised as we speak because although today marks my 45th wedding anniversary, I had no thought of an elaborate ceremony of this nature, but my children just had all arrangements well thought out, it marveled me beyond measures.
“In time past I only prayed with my wife for another year gone bye but our children never forgot to celebrate it for us.
“This one is however, unique because they along with all our grand children were all present,it is really a thing of joy and glorious day for me and my wife.
“The most spectacular aspect of it is the thanksgiving section, it was really awesome as we sang my favourite hymnal songs, I pray God to reward them accordingly.” Adesanya said.
The matriarch of the family, Reverend Apostolic Mother Opeolu Adesanya was short of words when recounting the memories of old in her marital life, as she summed the sustenance of the journey so far on the love of God that transcends all boundaries.
“We are gladdened by the honour done on us today, for me God the father remain the reason why we got this far, His grace kept us and we will never lose sight of this.
“I also thank God for my children they remain my source of unlimited joy. I urge parents out there to make Christ Jesus their anchorman, for him alone can guarantee the expected end desired by all men.” Mama Adesanya said.
The firstborn of the family, Mr. Adeshina Adesanya in his opening remarks during the thanksgiving programme held to celebrate the duo, hinted that the Adesanya offspring decided to mark the anniversary on low key level because of the COVID-19 scourge ravaging the world, noting that the numbers present due to that singular reason.
Mr Adesanya however, celebrated his siblings whom he said have been supportive in organising the event as God gives them the required guidance.
The only daughter of the family, Mrs Olubukola Folarin, nee Adesanya in her view notes that being the only girl child, she remain a link in between her brothers both young and old, adding that the programme was really awesome.
“When we decided to hold this programme immediately after a spiritual exercise, thank God it was all a success. My prayer is that we celebrate our parents union many more years to come, Mrs. Folarin said.
