History would record for posterity today, that 70-year-old George Anacious Asuelinmen is the oldest Post Graduate graduand of the University of Lagos.

Pa Asuelinmen will stand tall among other Ph.D students as the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, confer on him and 144 others Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) at its 52nd convocation ceremony. He bags today, a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering.

Asuelinmen made history as the oldest graduate at the 2019/2020 cnvocation, and the second oldest person to bag a Ph.D in the history of the 59 year-old institution.

Asuelinmen was a lecturer, head of department, Mechanical Engineering, director, academic planning, and dean, School of Engineering, at various times, at Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa (2006-2017). Before he joined OGITECH in 2006, he had worked mainly in the motor industry for about 25 years.
