The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, on Saturday carried out a physical assessment of the progress on the reconstruction of Olomore-Sanni/Ayetoro link road, inspecting the road to evaluate the ongoing work in the area.
Abiodun, appealed for patience and understanding of residents as they experience inconveniences in the construction of roads across the State, said all hands are on deck to deliver the projects on schedule.
Abiodun, visibly elated by the progress of work, said that the project represented a major breakthrough for his administration, especially in its drive to deliver an integrated transportation model that would ease road bottlenecks in the State.
He said aside the fact that various measures had been put in place to mitigate impact of the construction on residents more impactful projects would be delivered to make life comfortable for residents and visitors.
“As we are constructing roads in Olomore-Sanni/Ayetoro link roads, we are also doing the same in other parts of the state, but the key thing is that the government cannot do it alone; we are ready to partner with the citizens.
“So, I appeal for the patience and understanding of everybody. To residents, please bear with us, work with us and things will get done quickly,” he said.
“The traffic is better than before, and there is a lot of rehabilitation of existing road going on, and it will continue.”
Some of the residents and motorists who spoke with journalists appreciated the governor, for his kind gesture and wholeheatedly response in fixing the road, saying that many of them had lost hope in repairing the road.
A commuter who identify himself as Sesan Ibitayo, said that he always on that road, as he usually comes from Igboora to Lagos, saying that he has no other route than to ply it.
He said that since they have started fixing the road, he has then be praying to God for the Governor, to give the wisdom, strength and knowledge to steer the boat of the State till 2027.
