Nigeria’s largest and leading commercial bank, Access Bank, has invited women entrepreneurs to pitch in a Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa competition.
The competition, described by the bank as the largest business growth programme for women in Africa, takes place from June 22 and ends on August 14, this year.
Winner(s) of the competition would win a N5 million and a mini MBA from the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
In a statement sent to its customers, Access Bank said the business pitch competition is open to any woman who owns or runs a business, need to expand her business or needs an expert training on how to grow their business.
Interested women should visit the www.womenpreneur.ng to register their business and submit a pitch for the competition.
Launched in 2019, the Womenpreneur Pitch-a-ton Africa was the first women-in-business support initiative of its kind in the industry offered by the Access Bank W Initiative.
The programme in its maiden edition provided financial grants worth N9Million to the top five applicants with a free mini MBA certification for 50 women entrepreneurs in Nigeria. This it did in conjunction with the International Finance Corporation (IFC, a member of the World Bank Group).
This year, the programme is being extended to 6 other African countries where Access Bank’s W initiative has its presence. These countries are Nigeria, Ghana, Rwanda, Zambia, Sierra-Leone, Gambia and Congo hence the tag name “Womenpreneur Pitch-
