Special Adviser, Works & Infrastructure, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye has implored banks to cooperate with Lagos State Government in her strive to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of the State. She made the call in the conference room of the Ministry during separate courtesy visits to her by staff of Access Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc.
Adeyoye pleaded with Banks to work out modalities that will ensure that Contractors who obtained Advance Payment Guarantee (APG) from the banks had sufficient access to the funds in good time to enable them deliver on projects within the time scheduled.
She bemoaned a situation where Contractors who had been mobilized would wait for a long time to access the funds from the bank thus negating the progress of work.
While commending the Banks for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects executed in the past, the Special Adviser urged them to do more in the areas of provision and powering of Traffic Signal Lights, Street lights, junction improvement, laybys and other road furniture to reduce traffic snarls in the State.
She also advised that the banks leverage on technologyand come up with ways of improving the ease of doing business in the State vis-à-vis revenue collection modes without belabouringLagosians who want to transact business with the government.
The banks represented by MrsToluAdegoke, Zonal Head of Access Bank and Mrs Stella Egwuatuonmu of Zenith Bank pledged to work in harmony with the Ministry with a view for mutually beneficial relationship and utmost service delivery.
