Aging gracefully, changing titles and society’s dictatorship.
From “Omo yi” (this child), Boda yi, (this brother), Baba (father) now to Big Daddy & Grandpa, society has a way of imposing titles on you without your consent. Dictatorship!
No prior discussion, conversation or notification. Even your exs start calling you “uncle” “big brother” “Egbon mi” and spiced it with sir, sir, sir respect. You just wake up and discover your new status has been imposed on you just like that.
This life growth trajectory comes with expected responsibilities, principle, integrity and physiological changes. Saying the truth and defending people’s rights to good governance is a constant factor across the ages of maturity for reasonable adults, kurukere kurukere religionism or not.
Hello society, I wholeheartedly accept your imposed titles as I grow up since 19 yrs old when I became an accidental family head as an orphan and when I consciously developed to make sacrifices as a human right activist and a socialist revolutionary. Did I even have any option to reject these unsolicited titles? Don’t mind me jare.
I appreciate you all for appreciating me as my source of strength and encouragement to do more till the last and ultimate title, RIP is imposed again but which I won’t be privileged to witness its conferement . Thank you very much with Love!
