In a spectacular evening filled with joy, celebration, and commendation, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, a prominent figure in both politics and business, was honored as the life patron of the Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), on October 29, 2023, pledged to elevate the association to greater heights.
This momentous occasion, attended by luminaries in the broadcasting industry, served as a platform to inaugurate the new executive members of the association, confer the prestigious title of life patron upon Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, pay tribute to the late Gbenga Adeboye, and recognize outstanding individuals in the country with special awards.
Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo stood out as the sole personality to receive the coveted title of life patron. As the CEO of Eagle Media and Bullion Go Neat Global Limited, he also received a special recognition award for his remarkable contributions to society and his humanitarian efforts on a national scale.
Expressing his gratitude amid resounding applause, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi pledged his commitment to leveraging his influence to propel the association to greater heights.
During his interaction with the media at the event, Ambassador Oguntoyinbo emphasized the need for FIBAN to root out counterfeit broadcasters within its ranks. He encouraged fellow broadcasters to harness their positions and expertise to promote the betterment of the nation.
The philanthropist, a multi-faceted individual, also directed attention towards the government, urging them to make broadcasting a more viable profession by ensuring that broadcasting equipment becomes affordable for broadcasters. He underscored the financial challenges faced by broadcasters in acquiring essential equipment due to the current exchange rates and emphasized the importance of addressing this issue.
When questioned about his political aspirations, Ambassador Oguntoyinbo, who had previously contested as the gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, expressed his ambition to become the next President. He emphasized the need to uplift the nation from its current challenges, stating, “I want to be the next president; we must make sure we free this country from the present low ebb condition.”
This gala event not only celebrated an esteemed figure’s induction as a life patron but also highlighted the crucial role broadcasters play in shaping the nation and the challenges they face in performing their duties effectively.
“I am also a journalist who understands the ethics and principles of journalism. My being honored as the life patron of the Freelance Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN), Lagos state chapter would bring a positive change to the association,” he said.
