Amdst the 2023 Fadesewa of Shimawa 16th Coronation Anniversary Celebration, Comrade Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, the gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State has made promises of infrastructure development for the community.
Particularly, he promised to upgrade the dilapidated roads in Shimawa, aimed at attracting both local and foreign investments for the town’s advancement.
Speaking amidst the festivities, Comrade Olowu Olayemi Omokehinde, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the New Nigeria People’s Party, Ogun State Chapter, emphasized the need for Shimawa residents to benefit more from Ajadi’s philanthropic endeavors.
He acknowledged that Ajadi’s benevolence had primarily reached individuals outside Shimawa, attributing it to the candidate’s recent investments in the town.
Omokehinde asserted, “Ajadi’s campaign against bad social-economic and political policies reached every nook and cranny of Ogun State before the commencement of the last general election, and he is still rendering empowerment to the people of Nigeria, especially the youths from Ogun State.”
The commendation unfolded in the presence of His Royal Highness Oba Gbenga Gbadebo Sonuga, (Ogbodo1) Fadesewa of Shimawa. Oba Sonuga, addressing the assembly, expressed gratitude for Ajadi’s support and respect towards the palace. He underscored the pressing need for development in Shimawa, highlighting the absence of essential amenities such as water and electricity supply.
The monarch placed optimism in Ajadi’s promise to grade the town’s deteriorating roads.
“Your political party is gaining gradual sympathy by the citizens of Nigeria, and you as a candidate from Ogun State are a serious individual that has started the propagation of good governance campaign at an early stage. I wish you all the best in all your endeavors,” Oba Sonuga declared.
The Divisional Police Officer, SP Funsho Bamigboye, lauded Ambassador Ajadi’s commitment to peace and stability in Shimawa. Bamigboye recounted Ajadi’s visit to the police station for peace talks among the youth, during which he pledged support to address the station’s needs. She expressed gratitude, noting that Ajadi had fulfilled 70 percent of his promises.
As the promises echo through the air of celebration, the people of Shimawa remain hopeful that the commitment to better infrastructure will usher in an era of prosperity and development for their community.
