Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, expressed his outrage on Monday over the assault on his Commissioner for Women Affairs, Olubunmi Osadahun, by the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 1, Akoko South West Local Council Area, Olumide Awolumate.
In a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Bamidele Ademola-Olateju, Akeredolu described the assault as an affront to the government and emphasized that acts of violence would not be tolerated by his administration.
Recall that a video went viral at the weekend showed the embattled ward chairman, popularly known as ‘Cuba’, engaged in a free-for-all altercation with the commissioner over the distribution of palliatives.
In the clips which lasted few seconds, the APC chieftain was seen hitting Osadahun with a chair which caused injuries to her body with swollen face.
Akeredolu vowed to utilize the full force of the law to ensure that the culprit is brought to justice.
