Akpabio, Fayemi, Bankole, 4 steps down for Tinubu as voting begins in APC convention

Former Minister of Niger Delta Development Godswill Akpabio, the Chairman Nigerian Governors Forum and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, forner Speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole, led the wave of stepping down wind as they took time to announce their preference for the aspiration of leading aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Others who also stepped down are the Governr of Jigawa, Alhaji Abubakar Badaru, Sen. Boroffice, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, and the only woman presidential aspirant of the APC Barr. Uju Ohanenye.

They stepped down indicating their preference for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu who they described as a builder of men.

Akpabio, against all wind of predictions turned the tide when he mounted the podium and after fully enunciating in details what he intended to do if elected, urged his followers and delegates to permit him to step down for Asiwaju Tinubu, who he described as a great party man and a builder of destiny.

He was followed in quick succession by former Governor of Ogun State and Sen. Ibikunle Amosun, and Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi who mounted the rostrum after him equally deferred to Asiwaju saying he is still young and can still pursue his dream in the future.

Asiwaju obviously enjoying the gale of stepping downs for which which obviously gives him higher edge at the end of the voting could be seen waxing his hands while the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu who was with him at the State box was seen beaming with smiles as the event unfolds.

Meanwhile while former Senate President Ken Nnamani withdrew from the race the former Minister of Science Technology and Innovations Chief Ogbonnaiya Onu pointed urged the delegates to consider the Southeast region if the nation would really be standing on the tripod of Justice, Peace and Progress. He said there will not be justice if the Southeast is railroaded out of the race to be the president of the country.
