Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada has charged all stakeholders involved in the revenue generation drive to double their efforts to ensure that the council’s internally generated revenue target in 2021 is achieved and even surpassed.
The council chairman gave the charge while declaring open the Year 2021 Budget Retreat, organised by the council, at the weekend in Abeokuta.
Princess Bada stated that the reason for the retreat is to allow all stakeholders in the policy making of the local government to deliberate on the proposed revenue and expenditure for the new fiscal year, adding that the exercise at the end of the day, should bring about new innovations towards the development of Ikosi-Isheri council.
She disclosed that the theme of the 2021 Budget, tagged, “Budget Of New Beginning” would only be achieved if all stakeholders involved in the revenue generation drive of the council work assiduously and have positive change of attitude in the way they discharge their duties.
She charged all revenue officials of the council to ensure that the shortfall recorded in the council’s IGR in year 2020, as a result of Covid-19 pandemic and ENDSARS protest should not be allowed to occur again in 2021.
“If we want to achieve the aim of this budget, “Budget of New Beginning”, we are expected to be proactive in our actions, transparent and accountable”, she submitted.
The council chief, popularly called “Mayoress enjoined all participants to contribute meaningfully during various sessions of the retreat, while expressing her appreciation to members of the council’s Executive, Legislature, Management and Staff for their unflinching support and cooperation for the modest achievements recorded by her administration in 2020.
