The climax of the Gbadebo football tournament has churned out a winning team, All Size FC of Mile 12 won the final match beating Santos FC of Owode 3-2 after a penalty shootout.
The final match which ended 1-1 draw in regulation time witnessed hilarious display of football dexterity by the two teams.
It will be recalled that the football competition organized to commemorate the birth anniversary of Comrade Alex Gbadebo Omotehinse, whom the organizing committee believed to be a great ambassador of mile 12 community, started on December 14,2024, fielding twelve teams from different communities within the Agboyi Ketu and Ikosi Isheri LCDA from mile 12 to Ajegunle.
Appreciating the organizers of the football tournament, the celebrant Comrade Omotehinse expressed his gratitude for being counted worthy of celebration amongst his peers.
“I am overwhelmed with joy by this show of love, for being counted worthy to be celebrated among my contemporaries with whom I grew up together in the community.
“I promise to be more proactive in doing things that will make the youth and mile 12 community and its environs great.
“I want to once again use this opportunity in calling on all the warring factions in our to please sheath their swords and embrace peace in the interest of peaceful coexistence.”
Among the dignitaries that graced the final match were, Hon. Durosinmi a chairmanship Aspirant for the Agboyi ketu LCDA 2025, Alex Ojajuni the youth leader of Owode Elede/Orile.
Others are the CDA Chairmen from Owode Elede, Owode Orile, Ajegunle and mile 12 and several veterans of the mile 12 community.
