Alleged embezzlement: Allegation is baseless – OGSCOHTECH staff

The academic staff of Ogun State College of Health Technology (OGSCOHTECH), Ilese-Ijebu, says allegation levelled against its Provost, Dr. Abiodun Oladunjoye is totally malicious, unfounded and a bid to scuttle the academic prowess of the college.

The Dean, Students Affairs, Mr. Agboola Olayinka stated this during a peaceful protest staged within the college campus to show a solidarity support to the Provost of the College, noting that only five aggrieved members of the College with the bad record were after the Provost.

The protest which involved over 50 lecturers under the aegis of ‘Concerned Academic Staff’ of OGSCOHTECH, carrying placards bearing different inscription, such as, “No case of embezzlement shown by the annual audit report “, “petitioners are detractors with intents to destroy the school”, “our salaries are constant”, “We run an uninterrupted academic calendar”, and many more.

He alleged that Mr. Akinyele Cyril Babasope, Mr. Ojure Mujitaba, Mr. Anisere Dele Ismail, Mr. Kuku Mukail Adeoye Mr. Abiodun Sunday Abiodun and Mr. Nwokolo Raymond were behind the allegation written to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the state House of Assembly.

He alleged that those people have been indicted by an Oloko’s administrative panel of inquiry set up to investigate allegation of certificate forgery, misappropriation of fund and raping of some female students of the institution among others.

He said it was imperative to revisit the the Oloko’s administrative panel of inquiry to unveil their misdeeds instead now writing petition to the House of Assembly, noting that it would cause more harms if government refuse to summon them and account for their anomalies while lecturing in the institution.

Also, the Director of Students Industrial Works Experience Scheme (SIWES), Mr. Salako Sikiru said that it was pathetic that those involved were not genuine staff of the college, adding that it was embarrassing and annoying to realise that those unscrupulous elements could involved in such mischievous act.

He wondered how could the management get the some of Ten Million purportedly embezzled, noting that the college could not do without reporting to the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which is the supervising Ministry.

He added that non of the courses being run by the institution without proper accreditation, stressing that the academic regulatory agencies has always carried our its periodical re accreditation of courses in the college.

‎   In the same vein, the Dean, School Of Environmental Health Science, Dr. Soyingbe Azeez said that the institution always follow due process in spending fund, saying that all the allegation was targeted of the reappointment of the Provost of the College for second term.

“Indeed, no staff of the college could allege the Provost of misappropriation of fund, because all money is always spend judiciously and with the directive of the supervising Ministry, how then can a Provost withdraw money with its supervising Agency.” Azeez said

He then appealed to the State government to rise up the plight of the college and revisit the Oloko’s panel report of the institution with the view to sanitise the college.

He said that the step becomes imperative so as to redeem the image of the institution, particularly the future of the students whose future may be affected by the lies, falsehood and fabrication in the petition.
