Alli-Balogun Bags Alumni Award of Excellence @ school’s 40th Anniversary

Hon. Alli Balogun was being presented with an Award of Excellence and Good Ambassador of Dolphin High school by Dolphin High school Old Students Association during 40 years Anniversary at Federal Civil Service Club, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi

The Alumni of Dolphin High School (Dolphin Old Students Association (DOSA) has described the newly appointed Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education in Lagos State, Mr. Jamiu Alli-Balogun as a worthy ambassador of their alma mater who deserves the award bestowed on him.

Alli-Balogun who was a proud alumnus having been part of the 1986 set, was showered with lots of encomium as they celebrate the 40th anniversary of the school over the weekend.

The event which witnessed lots of nostalgic feeling about old times as well as quiz, lecture and other fun filled presentations helped to restore the bond amidst former students of the school.  

It was a memorable occasion which will for long linger in the minds of the alumni, particularly the DOLPHIN HIGH SCHOOL 1986 SET and others who were highly elated as one of them was appointed Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education by the Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Mr Babajide Olushola Sanwo Olu.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Award of Excellence and a good Ambassador of the School to Hon. Jamiu Alli-Balogun.

Alli Balogun who was joyfully overwhelmed with lots encomiums and accolades showered on him, could not hide his feeling as the alumni deems it fit to honour him.

This honour according to the organizers was not unconnected with the marvellous and spectacular roles he played in making the reunion a reality and thereby creating a common platform for other alumni.

Hon. Commissioner while responding to the eulogies from his colleagues traced the historical formation of DOSA to occasion of Mr Odegbami’s birthday party.

“Today it is a success story to everyone. It is my conviction that the association will serve as a forum to discuss, dialogue and dissect various issues affecting it’s Alma mata, particularly infrastructural development of the school and also see to welfare of its members.

“Within my ability and capacity, I will assiduously strive towards the actualization of the vision of the founding fathers of the institution and ensure it does not go into extinction, this house must not fall.”
