Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams has urged the Beninese government to allow Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a. Igboho seek treatment abroad.
In a statement on Tuesday by his spokesman, Kehinde Aderemi, Adams said Igboho’s incarceration had taken a huge toll on his health.
The traditional leader appealed for the activist to be allowed to seek medical care from his personal doctors in Germany.
Adams expressed concern about the conditions of his release, declaring that the Yoruba Nation activist committed no offence to warrant “inhuman treatment”.
“The condition attached to his temporary freedom is not enough. Igboho should be allowed to visit his personal physician in Germany.
Those of us that believe in the struggle are solidly behind him.
“I am sure justice will prevail and Igboho will regain freedom from the Beninese government”, the statement added.
