At a delightful ceremony at the Odogunyan Barracks in Lagos, the 174 Battalion of the Nigerian Army celebrated the promotion of its dedicated soldiers today, with Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo gracing.
The Officers promoted ranked from private ranks to warrant officers and corporals
to sergeants.
Ambassador Ajadi, in his charateristic manner of supporting worthy courses in the country, made a bold appearance at the event.
During an interview with the press, Ambassador Ajadi commended the promoted soldiers for their unwavering dedication and hard work in an environment that demands loyalty and patriotism.
He emphasized the importance of their commitment to duty and excellence, offering words of encouragement: “Keep striving for greatness, and you’ll continue to excel.” He also highlighted that their new ranks were a testament to their leadership and dedication.
Ambassador Ajadi conveyed the nation’s pride in the service of these soldiers and the trust placed in them to lead with honor and integrity. He concluded by motivating them to maintain their character and skills to achieve even greater success in the future.
Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ibrahim Abdurrahman, the Commanding Officer of the 174 Battalion Nigerian Army,
delivered a poignant message to the soldiers during the decoration ceremony.
He stressed the significance of soldiers not forgetting their support system, which includes their families, spiritual guidance, and health. Abdurrahman’s words underscored the importance of maintaining balance and well-being in the lives of military personnel.
For Lieutenant Colonel Abdurrahman, the event held special meaning, as over 60 soldiers who were beneficiaries of the promotion were under his command.
He expressed his joy and privilege in meeting Ambassador Ajadi, extending gratitude for the support and kind gestures. Addressing the newly promoted soldiers, Abdurrahman reminded them that their promotion was a gift from God, increasing their duty to maintain discipline and loyalty to the Nigerian Army. He encouraged them to cherish this memorable day as an opportunity to further their commitment to the nation’s defense.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdurrahman expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Ajadi for his presence and support, with hopes for continued friendship and cooperation in the future.
