Irate mob went berserk on Wednesday, burning the family home of the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Omididun Street, Lagos Island.
Also burnt was the house belonging to the mother of the governor at Surulere area of the Lagos Mainland.
This was learnt was a spontaneous reaction to the shooting of protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate, which has come to be known as the #LekkiTollGateMassacre.
Also burnt by irate burnt as a the early hours of this morning are the Lagos Liaison Office of Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA) at Apapa, the BRT Bus Park at Oyingbo, and another at Ketu, and the TVC Headquarters, located in the Ketu area of the State.
Sanwo-Olu had on Tuesday, imposed a curfew on the state due to the #EndSARS protests. Soldiers were subsequently called in to disperse the protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate who had defied the curfew, shooting sporadically into the midst of the protesters.
Eyewitnesses told Sunrise News that “around 7.45am, angry youths gathered around Sanwo-Olu’s family home on Omididun Street, Lagos Island, throwing stones and shattering glasses.”
It was learnt that policemen attached to the Adeniji Adele Police Station had raced to the scene in a bid to quell the violence.
