APC Presidential Rally ends abruptly in Bauchi as Public Address System crashes

President Muhammadu Buhari and top officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) left the Bauchi Stadium venue of the Party’s Presidential campaigns hurriedly on Monday as the Public Address System (PAS) crashes just as the President mounted the podium to address party faithful who had thronged the stadium.

There was nothing the officials did not do to reactivate the crashed PAS system leaving but to no avail.

Sunrise.ng News which monitored the development from the TVC which covered the rally live reports that the Stadium was thrown into some frenzy as everyone became concerned why the microphones crashed irrecoverably.

The PAS crashed moments after the Party’s National Chairman Sen. Abdullahi Adamu finished his speech and was about to hand the microphone over to the President, who was on hand to campaign for the party’s presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Vice Presidential candidate Sen Kashim Shettima.

Twice the President was invited to the podium when it seemed the error had been effect, and one could hear one of the comperes of the event shouting Nigeria! Sound Check 1, 2 into the micrphone to check whether the system could not pick up.

The President, who earlier had climbed the podium accompanied by the National Chairman, Adamu Abdullahi, the Presidential candidate and his deputy and other top aides had to be shepherded back to his seat and when he was invited for the second time and the microphones still refused to work, the President was escorted into his waiting car and he drove out of the venue with his retinue of entourage.

The PAS crash brought a sad end to a rally that was all glam and glory, with attempts made to celebrate the legacies of the outgoing President who was visibly happy and was all smiles all through until the sad microphone glitch.

The highpoint of the rally was a boy, about 10 years old who sang the praises of President Muhammadu Buhari and the APC Presidential candidate Asiwaju Tinubu, who was seen dancing to his music.

The boy who rendered his song in Hausa, however praised and prayed for Tinubu in flawless Yoruba. The boy was invited to the VIP stand and embraced by the President and the party’s presidential candidate, who hugged him.

It was however immediately clear if the President is heading to the airport as he is expected to board the plane enroute Lagos State, where he is expected to commission a list of five iconic and legacy projects completed by the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Buhari is being expected in Lagos, Monday, as he begins a two-day official visit to the state.

It was President Muhammadu Buhari’s first visit to Lagos State since 2019 and his host has rolled out the Red Carpet round the various spots where he is being expected to regaled in the show stopping Lagos spectacle that has become the state’s signature for events of this nature.

The President is expected to leave Lagos tomorrow afternoon.
