APC Primaries: Group alert government on planned disruption, fingers Hon. Agunsoye

A community based group, known as Active Kosofe Network, has alerted government and law enforcement agencies about a plot by certain persons, who have allegedly declared their allegiance to Hon. Rotimi Agunsoye to disrupt the party’s primaries for the Federal House of Representatives in Kosofe.

The group’s Convener Comrade Abdulwaheed Odunuga also maintained that this was coming after the said persons claiming to have held an unofficial meeting days after the APC Kosofe Party congress, perfected a disruptive move to discredit the official position of the party.

Worried about the likelihood of having a breach of peace in Kosofe, the group called on the appropriate government functionaries to take decisive steps at forestalling the planned disruption.

“The mischievous plan by this group of persons claiming allegiance to Hon. Agunsoye should be nibbed in its bud, to forestall the attendant hindrances it might pose on the electioneering process, which might also take its toll on the peace enjoyed in Kosofe local government”.

“The cited persons had unilaterally called for the postponement of the election at the umpteenth hour, threatening the party while protesting at the party’s secretariat to discredit the official position of the party at the local government level.

“We have enough insecurity and peace threatening issues in the community and country at large. This deliberate attempt to disrupt the credible process and destabilization of peace should be proactively tamed by the government and law enforcement agencies,” Comrade Abdulwaheed said.
