APC stalwart Ogunleye cites INEC’s lapses as mere human error, not complicity

…affirms Tinubu’s eventual victory

Prince Adebola Ogunleye a member of the Federal Board of National Bio- Technological Agency, has declared that given the impactful nature of the All Progressives Congress Presidential candidate Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu the claim by some none Yoruba speaking eligible voters in Ifako-Ijaiye area of Lagos state that APC attempted to deny their franchise is baseless and unfounded.
Ogunleye who spoke to newsmen at unit 059 Ifako Ijaiye, ward B after casting his vote, said that Tinubu’s qualities stands him out as someone who will not like to subvert the will of the people against all odds.
Reacting to the claim that the delay of INEC’s adhoc staff saddled with the responsibility of administering the electoral exercise at the polling units especially 008,015 around Charity area Ward A were part of APC’s attempt to subvert the people’s will.
“I think somebody should be indicted for that, there must be an officer responsible for none payment of that allowance because from the INEC Chairman’s press conference yesterday, he said all issues of allowances to every of their personnel has been sorted out..
“if in some other units, voting is going on well and in one or two units we have that kind of issue, then it must be that their is an officer who has not being responsible.
“It should be adequately investigated and the right punitive action should be taken and I think there is always a back up personnel from INEC, so I think the right people for that unit would have been contacted.
“But going forward I think the INEC authority should ensure that there is proper distribution of their materials both in terms of funds and in physical materials.
Ogunleye also described as a naive thought for anyone to perceive the pockets of issues spotted as a direct complicity on the part of INEC to favour the ruling party.
“That will be naive for anybody to say a particular unit is affected then it is none Yoruba speaking, this is Lagos State so at any unit you get to, Lagos is diversified and we allow everybody to be.
“I think they always look for alibi for their failure because if you go through that voters register quite well you will realise that probably they are even in the minority, but whatever the case I don’t think INEC came to any unit to come and do census of the number of indigenes and none indigenes in any particular units to be able to determine whether personnel will be there or not.
“That is really an insult on the magnanimity of Lagosians to have accommodated everybody so that holds no water, but we will look at it because we need every votes and I can assure you that there are many none indigenes that are voting for our candidate.
“So you can not do hasty generalization, because we know who we are we know how much our candidate has impacted every segment of the Nigerian society, so I don’t think “
