The All-Progressives Congress (APC) UK South West states Caucus has lauded the Nigerian Senate for the passage of bill for the establishment of the South West Development Commission (SWDC) into law, describing it as a sign of greater good in the offing.

It would be recalled that the Caucus canvass in one of its press statements issued on June 24,2024, that the Senate tags along with the Federal House of Representatives and especially in its attempt to ensure the SWDC bill scales the legislative hurdle and becomes law.

Elated by the eventual passage of the bill into law at the Senate’s plenary Thursday September 26,2024, the Caucus Chairman Hon Andrew Taiwo expressed profound appreciation that the upper and lower chambers were on same page regarding this germane bill.

Taiwo while reacting to the development, said that it shows the leadership of the National Assembly listens to counsel on the need to expedite the passage of the SWDC bill, he also appreciates the tenacity of Hon James Faleke, Chairman of the Southwest Caucus of House of Representatives and other colleagues of his for the spirited and unrelenting approach to ensuring success.

He commended the Governors of South West States for their resolve on the importance of the bill and the vigor attached to advocate for it.

“This bill given live today by the National Assembly means so much to us in South Western Nigeria, as it will translate to better and far-reaching development.

“We at the All-Progressives Congress (APC) UK South West states Caucus are so passionate about the passage of this all-important bill as evidently canvassed in our publication late June this year, we commend the NASS, for this has shown clearly that they listen.

“The passage of the SWDC bill into law will boost socio-economic growth of South Western Nigeria, as the needed ingredients abounds there.

“It will boost coordination and promote economic integration which will consequently bring about holistic development.” Hon. Taiwo said.
