The Arewa Community of 17 Southern States has restated their resolve to keep delivering votes massively for the All-Progressive Congress in subsequent elections, urging the powers that be to accord them consideration in appointments and cabinet formations of the government at the National and even state levels.

Speaking at its national conference held in Lagos on Saturday with the theme- Unity in Diversity: A reflection of Arewa Community of 17 Southern States in Nigeria Project, the headships of the various communities from Enugu, Anambra, Imo, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Osun, Oyo, Ondo, Rivers and Delta states who converged in the state unanimously made a dispassionate call on President Bola Tinubu to accede to their demand for inclusion.

While also commending the resolute mien of their National Coordinator Rt.Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji for having selflessly stood by them to guarantee the success recorded recently.

Blazing the trail, the Lagos State Arewa Community Chairman who doubles as the South west Coordinator of the group Alhaji Sa’adu Dandare Gulma spoke on behalf of Rt. Hon. Jaji, citing the need for some consideration to be accorded the community to support the management of their group for better delivery in not-too-distant future elections.

We want to make an appeal to our All -Progressives Congress national leader President Bola Tinubu and the state governors of the need for us to get better carried along in the scheme of things owing to our support work done so far.

This bothers on sharing of board appointments, even inclusion in formation of executive government cabinet and all other political positions, that is what informs this our conference in Lagos today.

The Secretary of the group Hon. Hadi Sani harps on the resolve of the group to further give unflinching support to APC all the way given the clear understanding of the state of the economy but urge the government to do more in the area of human capacity building and enhancement of the needed resources for existing structures within the party.

Alhaji Kabir who chairs the community in Delta reaffirms the body’s resolution of delivery during election and quickly added that it is of utmost importance that certain considerations be availed the group in terms of appointments.

For Alhaji Bello Umar Garkuwa from Osun their case is special given the fact that they are living outside their ethnic zone and has so well coexisted in peace but all have delivered massively for the party during election.

“Alhaji Sa’adu is trying to make us all enjoy the benefits of the votes as we ought to as Rt Hon. Sani Jaji urged us to keep hope alive, we have done it across southwest meeting here and there, we want to get feedback through Sa’adu to us.

“In a nutshell we are saying when people are being compensated Arewa Community should be considered for appointment too.”
