Army to establish reference hospital in Ebonyi

The ground breaking ceremony at the Nkwagu Military Cantonment, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, on Friday

SUNRISE NEWS, Ebonyi, Aug 8, 2020 – The Nigerian Army yesterday performed the ground breaking ceremony of the Nigerian Army Reference Hospital at Nkwagu, Ebonyi State.

The reference hospital which was located at the Nkwagu Military Cantonment, Abakaliki, the state capital is meant to provide adequate healthcare services to army personnel, their families and the host communities.

A statement by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Colonel Sagir Musa said Governor Chief Engr Dave Nwaeze Umahi, was the Special Guest of Honour, while the Chief of Policy and Plans of the Nigerian Army Lt Gen L.O Adeosun represented the Chief of Army Staff at the occasion.

Deputy Governor of Anambra State Dr Nkem Okeke and Deputy Governor of Abia State Rt Hon Ude Okochukwu represented the Governors of Anambra and Abia States.

Speaker Ebonyi State House of Assembly, some members of the States Executive Councils, Chief Of Administration (Army) Major General Usman Yakubu, General Officer Commanding 82 Division Major General Lasisi Adegboye and other senior military officers both serving and retired are among the dignitaries that attended the occasion.
