Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Uche Secondus has said the party’s presidential candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar will win landslide votes from Rivers State in Saturday, February 25, 2023 presidential election despite the intimidation from the Governor Mr Nyesom Wike.
Secondus who spoke on a Arise television programme on Wednesday, said the people of Rivers State know their leaders and despite everything would not wish that the state which has been voting for PDP since 1999 be taken over by another party.
He said the state governor despite all efforts to frustrate the PDP would see on Saturday that the people of Rivers State are smarter and better at playing politics than he would admit, adding that things would become clearer where the pendulum of power lies after the Saturday election.
He believed the PDP remained the party to beat not only in Rivers State, but across the country, adding that Atiku will reposition the nation if given the opportunity to be the President come Saturday.
Speaking on the crisis in Naira Secondus, praised President Muhammadu Buhari for fighting what he called the “greatest battle” of his life with rendering the monies thatched off by some unscrupulous politicians useless, thus spoiling the market for those who are bent on vote buying and rigging the polls.
He said there no place to hide for any politician who want to rig the next round of polls as the government is tightening the loose ends to clean up the system.
He threw his weight behind the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for all steps taken to ensure that it delivers the best and the most transparent and free and fair election ever in the country.
He said since 1999, Atiku has been a major force in Nigeria’s politics and his net worth of friends spread across the country would make a whoe lot of difference in the outcome of the polls come Saturday.
Secondus said the PDP presidential candidate is the only candidate who spoke to the many issues besetting the country and has shown his capacity to tackle the rot that the Buhari administration would be leaving the country.
He said the people should believe in PDP as it remained the party who can be described as the friend of the masses and would ensure there is restructuring of the polity because the party is committed to it.
He urged all Nigerians from the six geo political zones of the country to queue behind the PDP next Saturday as it remained the party that can take them away from the rot of the past into a bright and promising future.
