Atiku’s son-in-law, Abdullahi Babalele granted N20m bail

A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted bail to Abdullahi Babalele, son-in-law to the Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2019 election, Atiku Abubakar.

Justice Nicholas Oweibo granted Babalele bail in the sum of N20 million naira with one surety in like sum.

Owoeibo also directed Babalele to deposit his passport with the court.

Babalele was arraigned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly laundering $140,000 in the build-up to the general election.

He had pleaded not guilty to the charges leveled against him.

In the meantime Atiku’s lawyer, Uyiekpen Osagie-Giwa was also arraigned by the anti-graft agency for allegedly laundering $2 million in connection with the election.
