A lawmaker in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu, representing Eti-Osa constituency 2 has appealed to his constituents to collect their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) so to avoid being disenfranchised during the poll.
He made this appeal following the announcement made by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the designated points to pick up their PVCs.
The Commission had announced that the uncollected PVCs stood at 7,458,291 as at mid-August, 2018.
The lawmaker urged Nigerians to troop out en-masse to collect their PVCs, saying that their vote is their voice.
The PVC verification exercise which is ongoing is expected to end on the 12th of November, 2018 while collection of PVC ends on the 18th of November, 2018.
The verification exercise requires the registered voters to visit polling booths where they registered to verify their names from the pasted INEC list and in case there is any error in their details, they could report back to the Commission.
Hon. Gbolahan revealed that his constituents could collect their PVCs, at the following venues: St George’s Primary School, Falomo (for Ikoyi Residents), Obalende Primary School, Ijeh (for Obalende Residents), Ireti Primary School, Mekunwen (for Ikoyi II Residents) and Victoria
Island Government Secondary School, (for Victoria Island l Residents) INEC said that the PVCs that are ready for collection include those of 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2018.
