One of Nigeria’s foremost tertiary institutions, Babcock University, has presented an award to EduTech for its devotion to driving quality education in the country through digital initiatives. The award was presented to the organisation at the university’s recent 60th Founders Day and two decades as an institution (60/20) celebration at its llisan-Remo campus in Ogun State.
Receiving the award on behalf of the tech company, General Manager, EduTech, Mr. Femi Shonubi said, “We are delighted at this recognition as it emphasises our goal of helping progressive institutions deliver learning to as many students as possible.”
He said EduTech has helped several universities develop e-learning solutions to reduce the barriers to student enrollment since it began operations in 2012. These universities include the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) -where the Nursing, Accounting and Economics degrees are available online; and the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) – where the master’s in business administration (MBA) course is available online.
Commenting on the decision of the university to present EduTech with the award, Director of the Distance Learning Centre, Babcock University, Prof. Mobolanle Sotunsa said, “The Corporate Award from Babcock University was awarded to EduTech for reliability, dedication and commitment to Babcock University at the 60/20 celebration of Babcock University’s Founders Day on September 17, 2019. This is premised on EduTech ‘s partnership with and support for the proposed Babcock University Centre for Open Distance and e-Learning.”
“Quality education is very critical to our development as a nation and should not be hindered by the physical capacity or proximity to the school. With our online learning platforms, students can conveniently take part in course work from their homes or offices and earn a full degree in the process. We are happy to work with Babcock University to deliver this world-class experience to its students”, concluded Shonubi.
