Governor Umaru Bago of Niger, has commended President Bola Tinubu for his relentless efforts that has resulted in the re-opening of the Warri refinery.
This was contained in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, in Minna on Monday.
Bago describes the development as a giant step towards restoring the hope of Nigerians through local production and refining of crude.
The governor said reviving the Warri refinery after several years of being inactive indicates that Tinubu was willing to change the narrative in the petroleum downstream sector.
He said: “The Warri Refinery, which is operating at 60% capacity and producing 125,000 barrels per day, will further compliment the Port Harcourt refinery which was also revived in November.
“It is a testament to President Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda to better the lives of Nigerians as a major oil-producing nation.
The governor also acknowledged the efforts of the Management of NNPC Ltd, led by Mele Kyari, in making presidential mandate a reality.
He expressed optimism that the Kaduna Refinery and the Port Harcourt refinery would soon be fully operational. Bago further said the successful re- opening of these refineries was making a significant positive impact and inspiring confidence among citizens.
