A social analyst and public relation practitioner, Mr. Deyemi Saka, says Minister of of State for Defence and ex-Gov. Bello Matawalle or Zamfara deserves applause for military operations rather than accusations.

Saka, who spoke while fielding questions on insecurity in the North West on TVC programme on Monday morning in Lagos accused Gov. Dauda Lawal of playing politics with insecurity.

According to him, Matawalle should be commended for spearheading the military operations that got 14 out of 18 bandits terrorising the north West neutralised within a very short time.

He said that Lawal’s allegations against Matawalle despite military onslaught on bandits mischievous, self serving and unpatriotic

“Gov. Dauda Lawal’s accusations that his predecessor and Minister of Defence,  State, Muhammad Matawalle as being behind the insecurity in Zamfara state is mischievous and baseless,” Saka said.

According to him, despite the fact that Matawalle is neither a brigade commander nor commanding a troop, he has leverage on the instructions of the President Bola Tinubu, who gave him a marching order to decapitate the bandits.

Saka urged Gen. Aliyu Gusau (Rtd), a former National Security Adviser, and elderstatement from Zamfara to wade into the crisis between Lawal and his predecessor, Matawalle.

He urged Gusau to call Lawal to order in the interest of peace and to engender security and well-being of the people.

Saka said that attack against Matawalle was meant to spite him and lower his integrity to make him unfit to occupy his current position as defence minister.

Saka maintained that the unprovoked attack against Matawalle by Lawal was meant to spite him and lower his integrity as not fit to occupy the position of federal ministry of defence.

“It’s illogical for Dauda Lawal to think that President Bola Tinubu, who is working hard to free the country of insecurity and associated vices, will keep Matawalle in the ministry of defence if there’s any intelligence to suggest that he’s not doing the right thing.

“Dauda Lawal is fixated about Matawalle because of the successes recorded against the bandits who have been allegedly working in cahoots with the Governor,” he added.

There has been a running battle between Lawal and Bello over their link to the banditry in the North-West with allegations and counter allegations.
