Bandits attack ex-Minister’s residence in Plateau

Bandits have attacked the residence of former Minister of Sports, Damishi Sango, in Danwal in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Sunrise.ng gathered the bandits attacked the area around 9:00 pm on Wednesday, killing two security details and a boy and injuring many during the attack.

Confirming the attack, Spokesman of the Plateau Police Command, ASP. Gabriel Ubah, said the bandits also carted away rifles belonging to the policemen.

Ubah disclosed that the victims of the attack have been rushed to the hospital where they are receiving treatment.

He, however, noted that the former Minister and his family are safe and unhurt.

He said: “The Command is aware of the incident at Riyom and the victims have been rushed to the hospital where they are receiving treatment.

I am not aware yet whether they were dispossessed of their rifles.

”A team of detectives and intelligence officers have already commenced investigation and manhunt for the criminals.”

Meanwhile, unknown gunmen, on Wednesday attacked the former Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, in his hometown.

It was reported that Soludo was attacked at Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area, during an interactive session between him and some Isuofia youths.

The former Governor of CBN has shown interest in the governorship race in Anambra State on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

A source that spoke on the incident disclosed that three policemen attached to him were reportedly shot dead by the gunmen.

“There is a serious stampede now in Afuzo area of Isuofia which is in Aguata LGA of Anambra state.”

It was added that Soludo has now been taken to a safe place after the incident.
