Bandits attack Zamfara community, abduct 47

Bandits have launched another terror attack on Danbaza community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, kidnapping 47 people.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday morning.

According to a resident of the village, Mustapha Danbaza, eleven people were abducted in one family during the attack.

He further stated that a few weeks ago, a commercial vehicle loaded with passengers was attacked by the bandits in the same Danbaza, adding that nothing had been heard about the victims.

Maradun, which is the hometown of former governor Bello Matawalle, now Minister of State for Defense, has been facing series of armed bandits attacks.

The most recent attack unleashed by bandits in the area in Gora community, where several persons were abducted.

Janbako and many other villages have been under constant armed bandits attacks for sometimes now.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, ASP Yazid, said he would confirm the incident and report back to newsmen.
