Behind every emerging artist lies a story of resistance and resilience. For Skeng We$, one of the most significant obstacles has been gaining acceptance from his own family.
Like many young Nigerians pursuing creative careers, Skeng We$ faced skepticism from parents who were unsure about music as a stable profession. Despite this, he continued to develop his craft, recording songs and refining his sound.
His music reflects these personal battles. Rather than focusing solely on glamour or success, he speaks about shared struggles—an approach he hopes will comfort listeners facing similar challenges.
Growing up in Lagos, a city that celebrates success but rarely highlights the hardship behind it, Skeng We$ found music to be the safest space to express vulnerability.
