Nigerian parents have been counselled to consciously relate with their wards and try to be worthy role models to them.
This was the thrust of Barrister Adedeji Adetayo Odumosu’s speech as Chairman of Diamonds Mine School’s 2022 Graduation and Prize Giving Day.
Odumosu harped on the importance of deliberate conversation between parents and their children, so as to elicit good relationships that is mutually beneficial.
“My child once told his mum in a discussion why he will always maintain close ties with me rather than her, he said whenever I tell you I need something you will say there is no money but my father always ensure he gets it for me.
“I urge all our parents to be conscious of how relate with our children, we are their role models, how we relate and give attention to their needs matters so much. When we are there for them they won’t keep secrets, they will be able to confide in us.” Odumosu said.
The dazzling presentations by wiz kids, who peopled Diamonds Mine School wowed all in attendance as pupils between age 5-7 reeled out historical facts about Nigeria political evolution, by heart with little or no guide from their instructors.
Worthy of note amongst the youngsters is little Princess Ayanfeoluwa Sennaike, a Grade Two pupil of the school, who displayed a high level of competence and stage craft.
The School’s Proprietress Mrs. Grace Romoke Aderibigbe, in her speech gave an appraisal of the school’s development while commending the cooperation of the parents.
Mrs. Aderibigbe made presentation of Diamonds Mine scorecards, citing the worthy performance of the pupils in various activities carried out and most especially their academics.
She also showcased the kindergarten and Grade Six graduands called the ‘shinning diamonds’, adding that the children have been well equipped to hold their heads up high when in their new schools.
The event witnessed colourful presentations by the children as the parents could not hide their admiration all through.
It was an outpouring of spiritual blessings as the Proprieteress’ husband Mr. Yinka Aderibigbe prayed for the graduands.
He also charged the pupils to put their trust in God even as they progressed academically.
