The Big Brother Naija Winner Season 5 Lockdown series winner emerged on Sunday. He is Laycon.
Laycon beats 19 other young Nigerians who had been inside the Big Brothers House in the past 70 days to emerge this year’s winner.
Laycon, a graduate of the University of Lagos, is the 16th housemate to enter the #BBN this year. He has been causing a whole lot of rumpus in the House pushing other contestants, who never saw him as a competition all through.
He shot into prominence when he emerged among four other contestants that included Dorathy, Neo, Vee, and Nengi to emerge top five of the competition.
Laycon on Sunday however confirmed he was no match for other competitors when he scored 60 percent of the total votes cast by viewers of the #BBN to emerge the winner of the keenly contested competition.
Laycon goes into history as the first to win a landslide votes in the competition since it began five years ago.
Laycon, a Sickle Cell Ambassador, is a musician joined in the competition to draw attention to his Music, but stayed on through grits, rare display of intellect, elocution and raw courage and patience to beat other competitors.
He goes home with a total cash value worth over N85 million, which is made up of N30 million cash, a car, a house, trips to Dubai, Dublin and Scotland among others.
Laycon’s victory was widely celebrated across Nigerians as many youths had bonfires in several communities and the whole of Lagos erupted into a huge celebration, as his name was announced by the the Big Brother as the winner of the Season 5 competition.
