SUNRISE NEWS, Maiduguri, July 12, 2020 There is need for synergy and collaboration among security and humanitarian agencies in the troubled North East, the North East Acting Zonal Coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Chinoko Isah has said.
Speaking on Sunday at a meeting of public relations and information officers of security and response agencies in Borno State, the epicentre of Boko Haram crisis, Isah said the prevailing issues in the troubled region calls for synergy and collaboration among security agencies and humanitarian actors.
Isah, who gave a goodwill message to the forum, said synergy and collaboration among the agencies would streamline the flow of information on activities relating to security and humanitarian response activities of government agencies in the state.
He said this will engender smooth flow of information and response to humanitarian needs of victims of insurgency in the area.
The forum has representatives from organisations which include National Emergency Agency (NEMA), Borno State Emergency Management Agency (BOSEMA), Nigerian Army, Nigerian Airforce, Nigerian Police, Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJTF), Nigerian Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigerian Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Correctional Service and Nigerian Immigration Service.
