Few hours after the presidential order mandating the resignation of all ministers vying for any political office in the forthcoming election, the Mnister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has tendered his letter of resignation.
A tweep on Amaechi’s twitter handle @ChibuikeAmaechi posted on APC United Kingdom, which was tagged to @MinTransportNG and @NigeriaGov twitter handles said: HM Chibuike R. Amaechi has resigned from the Federal Executive Council (FEC) to focus on his presidential campaign.
It is expected that the Minister of Transportation (state) Senator Gbemi Saraki would supervise the ministry for the next eight months.
But Amaechi’s media aide had described the purported news of Amaechi’s resignation as fake, giving the indication that the Minister is yet to resign. They also could not confirm whether the minister will resign before the deadline which is Monday, May 16, 2022.
