Just when the King of African beats Sunday Adeniyi Adegeye, better known as King Sunny Ade, is counting the hours to throw his gates open and celebrate his 75th birthday, his wife, Hon. Risikat Ajoke Adegeye, who is a member of the Lagos state House of Assembly has dropped dead.
Her death was announced by close family members, who claimed the affable woman died in the early hours of Tuesday, after a brief illness.
Mrs Adegeye is said to be an easy going woman and very much beloved by her husband who artistry and stage presence has remained gripping.
Meanwhile, the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have commiserated with the Adegeye family over their loss.
In a letter of condolence signed by the APC spokesman, Hon Seye Oladejo, the council described the late politician as a consummate leader and a woman of considerable influence who leveraged on her experience as a law maker in the state to better the lot of women.
Oladejo’s statement reads: “The entire leadership of Lagos State chapter of All Progressives Congress commiserates with the immediate family, friends and constituents of Hon. Risikat Ajoke Adegeye, a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission on her untimely and sudden passage.
“She will be remembered for her impactful life, diligence, loyalty, humility and compassion.
May her soul Rest In Peace.
