Chairman of the Police Service Commission Mr Musiliu Smith on Wednesday announced his resignation as the Chairman Police Service Commission.
Smith, a former Inspector General of Police said his resignation became necessary as a result of the crisis that has bedeviled the Commission in recent times.
Workers of the Commission had embarked on indefinite strike action since the past three weeks to press demand for enhanced working condition and improvements in other condition of service.
PSC spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani confirmed his resignation.
Ani said Smith’s resignation was on health grounds and President Muhammadu Buhari has accepted it.
Ani said: “Yes he resigned on his own on medical grounds and the President has accepted his resignation.’’
