The court however modified the case, addi g seven other state governor in the suit, while it rejected the application of the Abia State to be joined in the suit on the grounds that they filed their application late.
The Court also threw out the counter suit by Edo State against the governor’s for lack of locus.
Sunrise reports that the Supreme Court had on February 8, adjourned to February 15, sitting on the suit to challenging the enforcement of deadline for change of currency by the Central Bank of Nigeria which expired on February 10.
At the February 15 sitting the Supreme court again adjourned sitting upon realisation that many states had shown interest to be joined in the suit. It therefore adjourned the case to February 22.
At today’s hearing, the Supreme Court expressed worry why the plaintiffs refused to join the Central Bank of Nigeria in the originating suits despite mentioning them 35 times in their petition.
