The Federal Government has filed a contempt proceeding against the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) for allegedly defying an order restraining the unions from embarking on industrial action.
Recall that the Organized Labour today embarked on a nationwide protest over the hike of fuel pump price following the removal of subsidy on petrol by the federal government and its resulting hardship on the Nigerian workers.
A “notice of consequences of disobedience to order of the court” also called “form 48” was filed before the national industrial court in Abuja by the Bola Tinubu led federal government on Wednesday.
