The lawmaker representing Epe 2 constituency in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu has pleaded with government to further open up the area with access roads and better infrastructure to boost commerce along the Ikosi Ejirin coastline.
According to Ogunkelu who chairs the House Committee on Sustainable Development Goals and Investment, the Ejirin axis has untapped potentials that could increase the state Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) if well harnessed with provision of road networks for better access.
“Once the road is good everybody that make use of it will bring commerce, investors will come and invest.
Different people who want to build infrastructure will come because my boundary is Imota and Agbowa. In Imota our government is putting up a rice mill there that too will bring lots of Infrastructure to Agbowa environs.
“During the previously held Constituency Town Hall Meetings, some of the needs highlighted by my constituents have been graciously attended to by Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, like renovation of schools in Odomola Secondary school, Okemagba High school, road Infrastructure, Olisa Road.
“Two transformer was given to two streets and a jetty was allocated to Agbowa as well for waterways commuting from Agbowa to CMS, this the Governor promised will be incurred in 2021 budget.
The lawmaker added that he also promised his constituents 11 boreholes in areas where they required it, of which six to seven of it have been delivered for use.
“During our campaigns in the riverine areas there are places where they told us they needed a borehole, so I have sunk two boreholes in Ward M1, one in Odomola, another in Jegbende also in Ward E1, that in Agbowa.
“Though my plan is to sink 11 boreholes before December and I have done like six or seven now. The remaining ones will be done before the year runs out.” Ogunkelu affirms.
He said his dream is to touch as many lives of his constituents as God would permit him during his stay in the House of Assembly in order to enable the people to enjoy the dividends of representative democracy.
